The adoption of conservation agriculture by Australian farmers has resulted in increased crop yields and profit. Farmers are now focused on maximising crop water use efficiency and conserving soil moisture. In some instances this has had a negative impact, where additional water in the soil profile has not been used by crops, resulting in the formation of seeps. We are now working with farmers to work out how they can utilise all available soil moisture and reduce the risk of seep formation.
